The Green Hornet (2011)

Some of you already know this movie is based on the radio show The Green Hornet. Later there were comic books and was made into a 1940′s film serial and eventually spawned the 1960′s TV series which starred martial arts legend Bruce Lee. Tons of action with the stereotypical hilarious and silly bad guy, fun fight scenes, and cute brotherly moments between Britt Reid and Kato. It’s so cute how Britt hugs Kato and the whole Chinese brother thing. To be honest, I was a bit hesitant concerning Jay Chou’s acting. According to one of his fans what I’ve heard and read he’s not a great actor. I thought he did a great job though. He kicked ass like no one’s business and was extremely charming. I think I may end up becoming a fan. Seth Rogen was also very charming, but I expected that since that’s just how he is. I have to say I liked everyone’s acting. The pathetic Britt Reid starts off wasting his life away while his father slaves away with his newspaper business which has the goal of delivering honest no nonsense news. After the unfortunate death of Britt Reid’s father, Reid inherits the family business. Soon he finds out about Kato, an employee of theirs. They become friends after Reid requests Kato to “tell [him] his tale” which later leads to the both of them creating the superhero, The Green Hornet. With Reid’s money, newspaper, insane idea, and Kato’s crazy martial arts and other skills, they both fight crime by pretending to be the bad guys. This of course will not do with the crime boss Chudnofsky (played by Christoph Waltz) who is very insecure about what others think of his badassness. He wants to be feared and be the only one feared. Now there you goes my little summary of the movie The Green Hornet. This project had been in development since 1992. At various points, martial arts stars such as Jet Li and Stephen Chow were considered for the role of Kato, along with George Clooney, Mark Whalberg and Jake Gyllenhall being considered for the role of Britt Reid. But since that some actors not available becuase they have their own movies as well they’ve chosen Jay Chou and Christoph Waltz. The Green Hornet (2011) will be in theaters this coming January 14, 2011. The film also stars Jay Chou as Kato, Christoph Waltz, Cameron Diaz, Edward James Olmos, Angela Bassett, David Harbour and Tom Wilkinson. The Green Hornet is an upcoming 2011 superhero film, based on the character of the same name created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker. Catch The Green Hornet in 3D format, RealD Cinema and IMAX.
