The Xoom’s spec sheet is enough to make any tablet tremble. The Honeycomb-powered Xoom is the only real competition to the dual core A5 CPU of the iPad 2. The Xoom is a very solid tablet, if we noted its several breakthrough features. The Xoom features a front-facing, 2-megapixel camera and a rear-facing 5-megapixel lens. It captures video in 720p, and the video can be edited in the editing app. The front facing, VGA-quality camera of the iPad 2 shoots low-resolution footage, and the rear camera offers less than a megapixel of resolution. The Xoom gets the edge simply because Google Talk works across platforms. FaceTime, an Apple-only app, has limitations. The Honeycomb multitask view shows you thumbnails with text descriptions of every app you have opened. Its battery is able to provide up to 10 hours of video playback according to Motorola. With Honeycomb comes Google Maps 5.0 with 3D interaction and Flash support which the Apple iPad 2

Bing to Overtake Google in 2012?
We’ve long had competition in search and I call it search engine war, stretching back to when search engines as we know them started to emerge in 1994. A search engine is a program that searches documents for specified keywords and returns a list of the documents where the keywords were found. And we know that Google is the king of search. Google dominate the search engine a decade now. But Google’s dominant in search engine will be compromise as Microsoft’s Bing showing some impressive rate last year. There will be a real contest between Bing and Google next year and Bing may just come out on top. Google still clearly leads Bing more than 2 to 1. But when you consider that that ratio was 3 to 1 last fall, the gap appears to be closing. Bing is growing by five or six percent each month, whereas Google is losing two to three percent according to some reports. According to data gathered by Experian Hitwise and comScore, Google was responsible

BlackBerry PlayBook Review
The PlayBook is an impressive tablet — it has to be, considering the iPad’s head start. And if RIM can ramp up its app offerings, it will be an even heartier contender. The PlayBook looks similar to other iPad competitors. Its slick touch screen measures 7 inches diagonally, smaller than the iPad’s but comparable with those of others. It has front and rear cameras for snapping photos and video conferencing and a black rubberized plastic back and sides. What’s different is the software powering the PlayBook. Most non-iPad tablets use Google’s Android software; RIM (Research In Motion) developed its own, yielding a device that is a pleasure to navigate and filled with cool features. Although RIM’s software was built from scratch, it has hints of the BlackBerry phone’s interface. The cheapest version of PlayBook will cost $499, the same as the cheapest iPad. It comes with Wi-Fi capabilities and 16 gigabytes of memory. A model with 32 GB will cost
